Currently, no md3 importer exists for 3DS Max r4, hence, no links for one.The pop 'n fresh tools for 3DS Max r3 do both import and export. If you are using Milkshape 3D, you might check that site.

It`s not often I get the chance to hang around nowadays, but thanks to this topic, I was able to start modelling in five minutes!(No kidding.) I just downloaded Milkshape 1.5.9, surfed this topic, and came away with enough knowledge and skillz to make trees fall in the Amazonas! I was even able to make my first head. (Yay!)

Regarding Rhino ... I'm not familiar with any import export tools for .md3 format models for it. You might investigate what model formats Rhino can import. Then look into a program called Milkshape 3D, which can import and export .md3 format models (and is very low cost ... but not free) and see which, if any of the model formats that it can export also match the import/export capabilities of of Rhino.------------------ Paul Jaquays id Software: Designer In Remembrance "Whether we bring our enemies to justice or bring justice to our enemies, justice will be done." Ok guys I've downloaded the file for those who can't get it and upped it at http://www.neobits.de/files/download/exportmd3-max4.zip for you to get it there. This file is only a recompile for max 4 so no new features or changes !I just realized that it seems to be a md3 export plugin only So long P.S. I haven't tested the plugin yet, so I don't know whether it works or if there are any changes ! [This message has been edited by Bloodeye : 01-12-2002.]

Troodon: The level of handholding that you seem to want doesn't come in an online tutorial. This book is about as close as you are going to come to finding that step by step on modeling: Modeling a Character in 3DS Max by Paul Steed. He's got another book in the works on animation. You may want to check the the computer art sections of your local bookstore for good books on animating ... though they won't specifically tell you how to rig and animate a Q3A character. Edit: This entry level book on animation has a great rating on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0517886022/qid=1016291530/sr=5-6/ref=cm_lm_asin/102-3648919-4054508 [This message has been edited by Paul Jaquays : 03-16-2002.]
